Angel Hair is a substance that is associated with UFOs and angelic appearances. As UFOs fly overhead, they disperse this white hair like substance that gets its name due to looking like white hair. It looks much like a cobweb and sometimes jelly.
It disintegrates fairly quickly upon being formed. (image courtesy crystalinks.com)
Angel Hair, or Siliceous cotton, is also related to Pixie Dust, Star Jelly, Red Rain, and Ectoplasm. It has been seen at UFO sightings, the Miracle at Fatima, and sightings of the Virgin Mary, and other angelic sightings.
So what is this substance? It has been reported worldwide and for a very long time. The Miracle at Fatima took place in 1917, so many decades at least.
The height of UFO sightings was in 1973, and on October 18th, there were 5 Angel Hair incidents in one day!
The most reported sighting of Angel Hair was in Oloron, France in 1952. Also in 1954, Gennaro Lucetti and Pietro Lastrucci witnessed Angel Hair falling from the sky from 2 “shining spindles that left a trail of white angel hair” in Venice, Italy.
On November 2, 1959, Evora, Portugal, Angel Hair fell from the sky. Samples were collected and analyzed under microscope by armed forces and scientists from the University of Lisbon. Results were really inconclusive due to it disintegrating fairly quickly, but apparently the Angel Hair was “formed by an organism with 10 arms stretching from a central core.”
Angel Hair is a mystery. Several theories have been put forth. There are some spiders that migrate through the air and ride on a type of cobweb gliders. Some angel hair samples have been found to be cobwebs. Another theory is atmospheric electricity is polarizing dust particles, which cling together and form string like filaments.
Another theory, is ionized air sleeting off the electro-magnetic field that surrounds the UFO. Or even excess energy being converted to matter.
One sample found it to be white flakes from some vegetable product. The Condon report, which investigated incidents of Angel Hair and other UFO reports from 1952-1955, stated that some were formed from spiders. Some reports however, stated that the origin and composition were uncertain. They called it “space grass”. Clever fellows aren’t they.
The Oloron incident in 1952 had many, many witnesses. It was described as “ a cottony-cloud of strange shape.” Witnesses saw a narrow cylinder, inclined at a 45 degree angle, with a plume of white smoke coming from the upper end. In front of the cylinder, was 30 smaller objects, that were red spheres surrounded by yellow rings. They moved in pairs, with rapid short zigzags across the sky. White hair-like substance rained from all the objects. (image left is rendition of what witnesses saw courtesy science.howstuffworks.com from the Mary Evans picture Library)
Witnesses collected some of the substance and rolled into a ball, which became gelatinized, which then disintegrated. I don’t know about you, but I’m not picking up anything that has come from a UFO. No telling what it is or what kind of germs or bacteria it contains. I wouldn’t suggest anyone do this. At least use gloves if you’re going to pick up UFO debris.
Only 10 days later, in Gaillac, France, an almost identical incident happened!
August 9, 1998, New South Wales, Australia, 20 UFOs were seen, described as shiny silver spheres that littered the ground with Angel Hair. Residents told USA Today “they swore they saw cobwebs fall from the sky after the UFOs passed overhead”. This incident was picked up by the Associated Press and published on August 19, 1998.
The most recent report of Angel Hair comes from Arizona on October 10, 2010, when for 3 days in a row, a “yarn type material fell from the sky”.
Brian Boldman has written articles on the phenomenon of Angel Hair. (images above are left: Boldman’s Angel Hair samples and right: microscopic close up of the material- copyright Brian Boldman courtesy sott.net) He has had some samples analyzed. He found some composed of boron, silicon, magnesium, and calcium. And some were radioactive. Samples I believe were from Angel Hair reports from Horsehead, New York in February 1995.
The strange thing is – what comes to my mind (and others) is this phenomenon might be a precursor to the current phenomenon known as Chemtrails that we see all over the globe. With HAARP doing it’s controlling weather thing, could this in fact be the first attempts at controlling weather? Are UFO’s attempting to manipulate our weather or just dumping unknown substances on us?
What gets me is that if this Angel Hair is indeed nothing but spider webs – then why can’t they analyze it? I mean, spiders make silk- so Angel Hair should be nothing but silk. It should be very easy to distinguish a normal spider web, right? And spider webs don’t disintegrate when touched. And are not associated with UFOs. And we should see a lot more Angel Hair around if spiders use this to migrate on an annual basis or whenever. It should be normal to see this, right? Am I crazy for thinking this? (image right of a very real large spider web courtesy tracers.m8.com)
And I don’t know of many spiders that make radioactive cobwebs. So I believe something else is going on. One more thing that I should also mention. Every single Angel Hair report states that they saw SPHERES of some kind. What is it with the increasing reports of spheres? They seem to be seen all the time now. What are these spheres releasing upon us? Are they some kind of military probes?
Another thing that comes to mind is Star Jelly. I did an article on Star Jelly awhile ago and it is so similar to Angel Hair. It also disintegrates when touched. And it a gelatinous substance that is associated with UFO sightings. Could they be the same thing, but just in different forms?
But I’m not sure about the Chemtrail connection. The reason is for the fact that it was also reported in 1917 at the Fatima incident. I don’t think they were thinking about controlling weather back then. And Angel Hair is seen at sightings of the Virgin Mary and other angelic sightings, with nothing to do with UFOs. So what is going on?
It is a mystery all right. And I have no answers. I think we may never know. Samples are rarely able to have a full analysis before it finally disintegrates. And like Star Jelly, the government has taken samples from people before any testing could be performed. Another conspiracy to worry about? Who knows.

Got news for you all.Scientific testing has proved now that this ‘angel hair is a living organism not of this world. In the lab when placed between two slides for microscope inspection, it moved and developed numerous legs and grabbed on to the slide to stop itself from being squashed. Someething to think about I think
I extracted a large amount of angel hair or a chemical trail from a dome shaped organism protruding from my undercarriage, after several hours it seemed to dissapear from my T shirt but left a ghostly shiny trail, i licked it and it was salty.
As to angels hair and other paranormal activity. I have seen a connection to the Bigfoot hair samples as well! Isnt it funny how always samples of these things in question never can be sorted out! With all the bigfoot hair samples taken to date, not one, has proven anything. Neither has UFO angels hair. Also isnt this pattern seen in the ghostly ecto-plasm left behind by spirits???? Certainly there is a paranormal connection to all of these things, with little else to show for it. Everything, from Bigfoot, to encounters with Angels, speak of a paranormal nature behind it.
just adding to this, many say the Angels hair is not a real substance either, like ecto plasm. Ecto plasm is supposed to act in the same way as Angels hair. whether any of this is real or not, i cannot say, however, it is funny how these things paranormal have trickled down to our modern era… How many here believe in the Paranormal? Just think though if U believe in sometype of God figure, U believe in the paranormal, like it or not! While all of this connects to the UFO phenomenon, perhaps the demon theory for UFOs, is correct? Who knows. Something is being seen, and also apparently watching us!
Dennis, I also believe that those who believe in any type of God are believers in the paranormal. It’s so obvious to me. But for some reason – they don’t think that way. To them, God is not paranormal. Yet his discription is nothing more than that of a supernatural being or paranormal entity. Thanks for the comment.
It is interesting to note that chemtrails did not start appearing until 96-97 and these chemtrails are around 100 miles high that linger around for hours. It could be used for a cloaking device for ufo’s? I live in Vegas and saw a crap load of chem trails yesterday, and saw a ball ufo..
I found ~25 small patches of Angel Hair in my yard this morning. I took photographs and video taped myself touching it (I know, I know but I couldn’t help myself) and it disenegrated immediately. Didn’t see any UFO’s last night but wasn’t looking for one, either. Very strange coincidence since I had only by chance learned about Agel Hair the day prior.
Andrew – you shouldn’t have touched that stuff! I am hoping you didn’t get sick or anything from it (like some others have). Great job getting oictures and video before it disappears. So proof does exist that this stuff is real. Care to share your pictures or video?
Regina, I did feel a little funny for a few hours after touching it…I just couldn’t help myself. The first thing I used to touch it was a leaf and was surprised at how it seemingly disappeared. Then I used my finger and it just seemed to vanish without a trace. I’d be more than happy to share videos/pics but don’t have a webpage…would be open to hearing suggestions.
I thought that sightings of the Virgin Mary etc. was associated with UFO activity. At least from what I read, UFOs were sighted in the area prior to the appearance of the Virgin. Fatima supposedly had a UFO wave at the time. It is hard to tell what is fact and what is BS from what anyone reads anymore.
Believe in nothing and question everything.
Georgiy, very wise words indeed.
