Okay, here’s the story. Grab onto your hat, cause this may be a wild ride. But also keep an open mind.
On November 16, 1974, the SETI program sent a message in binary code via the Arecibo Radio Telescope. The message was pointed at a globular star cluster called M13, which is about 25,000 light years away. It has around 300,000 stars in the Hercules constellation.
The transmission was 1,679 pulses of binary code, which took about three minutes to send, on a frequency of 2380MHZ. The product of two prime numbers, 23 and 73, is 1,679. So there was a reason for 1,679. So anyone with intelligence can see that prime numbers are involved and can easily break down the grid of the message in 23 squares across and 73 squares of rows down.
So that’s the background information you need to know.
Now, on August 20, 2001, two new crop circles were discovered near the Chilbolton Observatory in Hampshire, UK. The call it the “Face” and the other the “Arecibo Message”. The first one resembles a face and the other is a long square that is almost exactly the same as the graphic representation of the “grid” of our message sent in 1974! How cool is that?
To best see this, look at the pictures.
The first picture at left is the crop circle from above. (from paranormalnews.com) And the middle picture is a close up of the face. If you look closely, each pixel or hole is a swirl in itself. Very impressive to me. (from bibliotecapheyades.net) And the third picture to right is the square that depicts almost the same message in graphic form as the message sent in 1974. You can see that it is not quite perfect, the top of the square isn’t even at right angles.
Anyway, to see the full effect of why this is so astonishing, is to see the graphic depiction of the message we sent in 1974 side by side with the “response”. See below. (image from wisdomoftherays.com)
The left side is the binary code message from 1974 in graphic form. It looks like a type of picture when you make the 1’s black and the 0’s white for each square. Now the image on the right is the crop circle response. You can clearly see some differences, in fact, there are nine differences. A couple more differences that are being kept secret so they can weed out the hoaxers, if any. The middle one gives the sections and what each section means in our message.
What was in our message? In order from top to bottom – Decimal numbers, the atomic numbers for the primary elements of life on Earth (hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus, and carbon), formulas for sugars and bases of DNA, the number of nucleotides of DNA, a DNA Double Helix, a “stick figure” of a human (showing arms, legs, and head), the average height of humans in wavelength (5’9”), the population of Earth in 1974 (1.5 billion –which is low), a depiction of our solar system with the 3rd planet emphasized, and a picture of the telescope and its diameter.
In analyzing the crop circle, there seems to be nine differences. And here they are:
- 1st, Silicon was added to the atomic numbers section, and was encoded correctly in sequence. Are they silicon based rather than carbon based like us?
- 2nd, an additional strand of DNA was added on the helix. A triple helix maybe?
- 3rd, the number of nucleotides was different.
- 4th, the “stick figure” has a much larger head, shaped more like an alien with big eyes.
- 5th, the height calculates to 3’4”, which falls in line with witnesses of “grey” aliens
- 6th, the population value changed to 8.5 billion. Is that the population on Earth in 2001, or their population? Or a combined population? Who knows.
- 7th, the Arecibo dish depiction is very different. Is it a “picture” of their telescope they used to send the message back?
- 8th, the diameter of the telescope is different.
- 9th, the 4th and 5th planet are also highlighted along with the 3rd planet. And the sun appears smaller.
So there you have it. The differences. So, is this a hoax? Or is it a real response to our radio message from 1974? Creating a 3D looking crop circle on a 2D field is quite extraordinary and not easily done in broad daylight, much less in moonlight in the middle of the night. I applaud whoever did make it. And the corners aren’t exactly right angles, so it’s a bit sloppy. But very impressive nonetheless.
Are crop circles now evolving into another realm, with encoded messages? Will more come?
Now, to go on, in August 2002, almost an exact year later, another “face” crop circle and a “disc” was discovered, only 8 1/2 miles from the 2001 circles. A binary message seems to be encoded in the “disc”. See picture below (copyright lucypringle.co.uk)
Obviously, the face is of an alien we’ve come to know so well. The frame of the face isn’t quite right though. There is hardly any space on the left of the face. And the bottom corners aren’t right angles. But the disc looks intriguing.
The disc looks like an old music box with notches in it. But it actually is a spiral of pixels expanding out from the center. Another binary code?
Well, yes, and it has been decoded.
The message says: “Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts and their BROKEN promises. Much PAIN but still time. (Damaged word). There is GOOD out there. We OPPOSE DECEPTION. Conduit CLOSING. (Bell sound).”
That’s what it says. Why some words are all capital, I’m not sure, but every source I found does this, but really no explanation of why.
Anyway, the damaged word comes out to be decoded as “EELIJVE” which many think the word is “BELIEVE”. And it makes sense in the message. More pictures of the “alien face” crop circle below. (left image from simonhenderson.com and right image from disclose.tv)
So how was this code deciphered? Well, that’s where the laughing begins, in my opinion. They used what is called the ASCII character set, which is used by computers to write binary code. And of course the message is in English! Aliens from another galaxy or another dimension isn’t going to speak English. Come on!
And ASCII code is NOT a standard universal code or language. There would be no alien race using ASCII code for a message to us. Please. So this one seems to be a hoax.
As far as the 2001 crop circles at Chilbolton, I’m not sure. They could be genuine. But it wasn’t that perfect either, so both could be hoaxes. In the back of my mind, the fact that they are almost exactly one year apart from each other, makes me wonder.
I have included a couple of videos also. I hope you can watch them. I’m having problems getting videos to even download lately. So if you can’t see them, I apologize in advance.
So what do you think? Are crop circles getting really interesting now? Are they becoming too complex for them to be taken seriously? Do you think that crop circles formed as 3D pictures creates a whole new evolution to them? Can 3D crop circles be made by man (I know they can) but on a regular basis over and over?
I personally think that there are many genuine crop circles and a lot of hoaxes as well. I will leave it to the experts to weed them out from one another. I’ll keep watching for the latest news on crop circles.
Maybe one day they will actually land! Fingers crossed.

regina,
thanks for writing all this up, it’s certainly provocative stuff. my skepticism concerning this sort of subject matter has remained largely dormant since i was about 14. however, in response to your post may 24, 2011: while i agree that english is not the official language of earth, or even the most widely spoken, it is still regarded as the most practical language to learn if you have hopes of eminence in the business, academic and scientific communities and by extension your aim is to make contact with us. assuming crop circles are in fact not hoaxes and instead are being delivered from above somehow and given that such phenomena overwhelmingly tend to occur in at least partly english-speaking, westernized and first world nations (which is notable in itself) we can do a little bit of speculation and perhaps draw few inferences. either they know where english is mostly spoken, ie. england, but also the us, australia, germany, isreal, japan etc., they know which of our nations are most likely to receive and respond ie, with the most telescopes, military bases, space programs, analytic infrastructure -that are rife with experts and academics, resources, influential media channels, theorists, adherents and people with a lot of free time on their hands. going further still, if we are meant to understand, through the nature of the content of these circles, that they aren’t merely making an attempt to demonstrate their profound intelligence and move on or blow our planet into the next dimension, but rather, introduce themselves by setting about with patterns and language to remind us of the simple elegance and universality of physical and mathematical laws, create elaborate and playful forms and designs, then start inserting some relevant meaning and notify us we’re on a collision course with self destruction if we don’t get our collective s together, i think it would be pretty safe to assume either they know a whole lot about us.. or they are us. the scale, timeframes, distribution, intricacy, microwave and electromagnetic evidence, as well as some of the strange circumstances precipitating an appearance of one however would seem to suggest otherwise. in one exceptionally compelling example as described by a prof. klass van egmond, geoscientist at the university of utrecht recounts an event in which he claims a crop circle appeared in the arrangement of an electromagnetic field the morning directly following some discussion he and some collegues had just outside the room in the bed and breakfast where the discussion had been held the prior evening. he cites another similar example which played out like the former with a maltese cross circle. i don’t know if this furthers more doubt and skepticism or conviction but i for one will be following the development of this topic until it’s either confirmed or roundly disproven. for those of you with 50 min you can dispose of, i’d recommend a documentary recently released in the public domain on youtube: new swirled order.. it’s pretty convincing.
Asa – I love your response. Very effective arguments for why crop circles may be using the English language instead of another language. But as compelling and very accurate as your arguments are – I still just have a feeling that English shouldn’t be the language used by aliens if they indeed are communicating with us. I strongly believe that some of the crop circles are very real – and not hoaxes. But using English? Really?
Since I believe in many ancient alien theories – and believe aliens once visited our planet thousands of years ago over and over – and then suddenly stopped. Maybe they stopped when we became more advanced. Who knows why. But why wouldn’t the aliens of today, in crop circles, use the languages they spoke with us so long ago – which wasn’t English? Why not ancient egyptian, or aramaic, or chinese? TO me it just doesn’t make sense that English is the language they are now choosing to use – when so many other languages were spoken between us hundreds and thousands of years ago. Why change? I do thank you for the argument and comment.
Just saying, whether its true or not…you would have to give a highly advanced species that can travel across the galaxy the benefit of the doubt. One would have to believe that they could decode ASCII and use it to communicate with no problem…I mean, if jr. college kids can do it…. We have transmissions and communications moving around our planet all the time, its not like we wouldn’t be easy to study for an advanced race. Furthermore, if you are trying to make non-invasive contact, what better way?
Is it true? Who knows, but who in fuck goes out in the middle of the night to create a valid ASCII symbol in a field, gets away with it without being seen IN ONE NIGHT, and doesn’t own up to it years later…
And don’t forget we got many, many satellites out there which broadcast lost of English.
Nice. I am very interested in the data sequence. Does anyone know what I can go to get a high resolution image of the binary disk? Or even better the actual binary sequence that you talk about.
You know I want it in the format:
1000 0101 0110101
1010001 0101101 01
0101110 1010010 10
Also does the code contain a type of compression. Please provide the HEX values as well:
Such as 0×81 0×64 … That would be great.
Ok… I was able to compile this from what I have found on the internet.

One last thing, note the ‘alien’ response to the NASA message, none of this is encoded as ASCII. It doesn’t need to be simply because there is no text or spoken language to represent.
Take the first data set for example representing our base 10 numeric system encoded in binary, not ASCII. These are simply values 1 to 10 encoded in binary. I’ll explain how this works so that you may see this for yourself.
Binary can represent many forms of data, CPU command codes, pixel color information, music data etc etc. All data goes through the CPU (and other logic circuits) as on and off switches, which we represent as 0s and 1s, because it’s simpler than writing off,on,off, off etc.
We sent them a message in binary, because it’s the simplest way to represent simple data in a radio transmission, and to be recognized as a uniform data stream (square wave of consistent frequency) so if they were to reply, would they not reply in binary also?
So therefore, they know we understand binary, and if they want to encode text in their designs, without actually writing the text, ASCII is the simplest standard to use
For those who wish to understand how 0s and 1s could possibly be stored as numbers, here’s how it works:
11111111 – 00000000 (255-0)
Each digit position corresponds to a power of 2. Binary is a base 2 number system. Two digits, 0 or 1.
From left to right, each position represents a single value:
7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 <– bit position (8 bits in 1 byte (position=exponent of base 2))
2^7,2^6,2^5,2^4,2^3,2^2,2^1,2^0 <– value it represents (if it is numercial data)
^ represents to the power of, or the exponent
these values then represent:
128,64,32,16,8,4,2,1
Using the above numbers, we can create any number between 0 and 255. Think, if 1, include the value represented by this bit position, or 0 don't include the number represented by this bit position, then add all the numbers that are included to get the decimal value. Seems complicated, but actually it shows a lot of data can be represented as 0s and 1s. CPUs only understand on or off switches, two states, base 2 is binary. All data has to be encoded as binary for the CPU to work with it. Hence the need for the conversion so that the data may be translated to something more meaningful.
11111111=255, because 128+64+32+16+8+4+2+1 = 255
Notice in the image I posted: http://www.ufo-blogger.com/2011/02/rendlesham-forest-binary-code.html
that all the bytes (groups of 8 bits) are separated by a space to distinguish each byte. And also, each byte of binary data always starts with a 0, so therefore, in the highest bit position, we don't include 128 in any, so all values are less than this. As they are on the ASCII table.
So here's each letter as decimal and binary:
01010000 = 80 = P
01000101 = 69 = E
01000001 = 65 = A
01000011 = 67 = C
01000101 = 69 = E
Like most things mathematical, it probably seems complex the first time you learn it, but like anything it's easy when you KNOW how
To learn = to know = to become easier
So for P, lets add up the numbers represented by the bit positions that are 1's to get the number 80, and then the letter P:
01010000, easy, just two numbers to add, 64 and 16 = 80. This could represent any data, or just be completely random. But if we decode each letter using the ASCII chart, and we get a word, or in the case of the alien face and disc, does that show randomness or structured information?
In the case of the alien holding the disc, the alien face could be encoded to binary data also, but perhaps that picture is already there to show the data on the disc (because there's so much of it) isn't picture data.
The more we try to decode with ASCII, the more we see this is what is intended as it is anything but random. That we could make all these words by coincidence is not highly improbable, but practically impossible. Therefore we can be more sure it is actually text data the more we decode it, the more it becomes meaningful and demonstrates a structure.
For a beginner, this may seem very complicated process, but really it's not, especially when you use windows calculator to convert binary to decimal values which represent real letters of our alphabet via the ASCII table.
The conversion to decimal is only necessary to make it easier to see which letter is represented by the binary data, we could include the binary data next to each character on the ASCII table, but it's much easier for us to know we have the right character if we convert to decimal first.
Just to compare, our base 10 number system has powers of 10 as 'digit' positions:
1*10^2,2*10^1,5*10^0 = 125 decimal (dec=10,bi=2)
remember very early math lessons, hundreds, tens, units just to show how any number in our base 10 number system can be similarly represented by it's base, position and in this case the multiplier of that position, which we represent with digits 0-9 in each position.
Notice we call it a digit position, and not a bit position. Bit actually stands for Binary digIT. That being 0 or 1.
Anyway, hope it helps those of you who do wish to understand the simplicity of this encoding, and why they use the ASCII standard. It is a simple process understood by many, and hopefully in a while, once you grasp the concept, by even a few more
Just one last thing after re-reading some of the posts…
ASCII most certainly IS a standard for storing alpha-numeric (letters & numbers) characters in a binary system.
ASCII itself stands for Amercian STANDARD code for Information Interchange
It was designed for this very purpose, so that one computer, say an Apple IIe can store text, and this text can be read by an IBM PC because the both encode these characters to the same standard, that is, ASCII. Printers of the time, and all the various brands also used these ASCII character codes to make up the dot matrix for the letter A for example. So A=65=01000001, which in computers actually directly translates to electrical switches which have either an off or on state, two states, base 2, binary.
I need to edit this line in my previous post:
Or because it’s the only modern method understood by many to convert binary to text?” This isn’t accurate, but binary to text conversion would be easiest using the most basic common version and longest lasting of binary to text conversion table, that is ASCII
UTF-8 as used by the web is designed to be backwards compatible with ASCII.
Regarding ASCII, I have seen this used in several crop circles, even a guy touching a UFO received a binary message that via ASCII was translated to english words.
http://www.ufo-blogger.com/2011/02/rendlesham-forest-binary-code.html
It’s much simpler than it sounds, but then I’ve been programming computers for many years.
Here’s by far the simplest binary to ASCII conversion I’ve seen in a crop circle:
http://s14.postimage.org/ujaimf9td/31st_july.jpg
Working from the middle, there are 5 groups of 8 circles which represent bit positions of 0s and 1s.
The circles without the line through the centre are 0s and think of the ones with the lines through them as digits of 1s. If this is binary, it’s the most logical way to represent it here. Nothing in the centre vs a line which looks like a 1 in the centre. Ignore the very centre circle, think of it as representing the origin, that is, where the message begins. It may have another meaning, who knows
So the first binary sequence is 01010000 = 80 decimal = ASCII character “P”
You can do this conversion easily with windows calculator set to binary mode:
For the latest version of windows calculator, set it to programmer mode. For earlier versions, set it to scientific (no programmer mode option available). Click the radio button (the dot) next to bin (binary). Once in binary mode type in the 0s and 1s then click the radio button on dec (decimal) to convert to decimal, then find the ASCII code chart to see which letter corresponds to the equivalent decimal number.
Here’s a quick ASCII chart I googled: http://www.asciitable.com/
Very very simple crop circle, 5 bytes (8 bits/byte), 5 letters that spell “PEACE”. Now you can verify this circle yourself
Very simple, very easy to see, hard to see it any other way really
Unlike more complex circles and the varied ways to interpret them.
How and why the creators of the crop circle use ASCII? 8 bits per byte, 1s and 0s, which directly translate to alphanumeric characters used in English? Easily represented by circles which seems to be the easiest geometric shape for them to create? Or because it’s the only modern method understood by many to convert binary to text?
I’m sure the aliens could carve out the word PEACE in the ground if they can draw scan-line alien faces
So why encode it? Perhaps to say there is more to these things than just art??? Would the word peace on the field look too much like a human created it?
I like this crop circle because it’s so simple, even as a lesson for those who don’t understand how simple this conversion is to try out the conversion process themselves so they can verify the circle does certainly contain the ASCII character codes for “PEACE” if it is in fact representing binary. Which it most certainly is is by the definition of any binary system.
One other thing, as a computer programmer I can see the ‘beads’ on a string. In computer programming a string is an alphanumeric collection, usually used for words but can also contain numbers that can’t be used in maths until the string is converted to an data type the deals with numbers as numbers. Just thought that might be a clue in the crop circle to say this clearly 8-bit binary isn’t numbers, but a string. For anyone who may have done BASIC programming at some point here’s a refresher:
10 A$=”PEACE”
20 PRINT A$
These letters are stored in memory as ASCII values, because in computers, data can only be stored in memory as 0s or 1s.
Hope this helps clear up how ASCII is used to communicate in these circles at times, who knows perhaps someone here can be the first to decode the next binary formation, or teach others how to verify it
You can ask them yourselves if this image by Lucy Pringle, showing the fields next to the Chilbolton Observatory, is accurate. Or, you could go to Google Earth(tm), and entering the actual address from the observatory (on their web page) to see the Satellite images and use the time line slider to see what the area looked like before and during the construction of the observatory. Although The Google Earth(tm) image shows many homes and trees, following the directions to the observatory on Drove Road, you can clearly see the observatory dish if you pause on the route and look around. By getting out of street view only available on Drove Road but not at the observatory, you can see the fields surrounding the observatory facilities and can orient the image to map to her photo, but no crop circles, of course. The difference in satellite images is remarkable. Many trees and only a small field when you find their address in Google Earth(tm) and when you travel the route with street view and come out of street view, the fiels are there.
Finding by address on Google Earth(tm) the pointer is located at 51deg 09′ 20.46″N by
1deg 26′ 27.04″W elev 190 ft and the surrounding area is not the one pictured as having “crop circles”. The building is in the midst of a residential area, and appears to have a swimming pool, which may be a Google Earth error. Earlier imagery 12/30/2000 from directions view, shows the marker at a smaller home with no pool.
By using the road directions from the Chilbolton website, we arrive at a different location, with imagery that matches, showing a
Satellite Dish located at
51deg 08′ 41.92″ N by
1deg 26′ 17.42″ W elev 270 ft Imagery Date 4/25/2008, by Infoterra Ltd & Bluesky. The entrance is marked “Private Road”, “Government Property No Admittance” under the “Chilbolton Observatory” sign.
The Face, near as I can surmise by turning the Google Earth(tm) image to match, would be close to centered at
51deg 08′ 41.49″N
1deg 26′ 36.14″ W elev 261 ft
The Glyph would be roughly centered at
51deg 08′ 38.57N
1deg 26′ 28.72 W elev 267 ft.
jesus do not exist! wake up !
and why would you think that? oh thats right. because you havent researched it at all.
“… to speak English. Come on!”
Retarded kids on the internet write “come on” ….
Karl
Karl, lots of people use the phrase “Come on”. Not just retarded kids.
You also write it. lol
Is it possible our own computers come from what we may have reversed engineered after findng their technology thru crashes etc.???? conspiracy loaded yeh, not much into those, but not impossible. Maybe our computers, binary codes technology etc. are easily decipheredy by them due to it. Piece of cake to them
no doubt, pre kindgarten by their standards, that is if they exist.
Ahhhh crop circles, what are they. I do think for the most part hoaxes, however some do appear so complex, as to negate an overnight project. I have heard of people taking time over a week say and creating them, but not overnight, and certainly the more complex the crop circle, the more time needed to make the impression. Im still open minded about what they are, and I myself being an artist of very large projects, know how long these things take. I once painted a space scene on the side of a building for an amusement park and it took me a month. Doing a complex crop circle at least from my view point would take some time. In a way they remind me of the images on the Nazca plains.
I believe many crop circles are not made by stomping them down with boards. There are examinations which shows that the nodes of the straw inside the circles have been subjected to intense heat, making them bend to uniform non-random direction. Also the angle of bending is so large that it can not be done without heating, without breaking the straw. It’s good to remember this when sometimes there are these jokers with boards getting some media attention.
Another thing is that there are some whistleblowers who say to have been working in government dark projects developing some very advanced technologies. Sometimes I think that the makers of crop circle may not be extra terrestrials but very terrestrial ones. It would be enabled by the advanced technologies. The agenda of the crop circles becomes more fuzzy in that case.

The message would be written in standard computing terms as an alien civilization that’s more advanced or equally advanced as we are would reply with exactly the same technology so we are able to decipher it. Secondly, they would speak most probably speak English as it’s a globally known language and the majority would be able to decipher a simple English message. Also most likely because they have picked up many great moments in history that have been based in English. Make no mistake, a civilization even 1000 years ahead of us would be a lot wiser, and technologically efficient than you could ever imagine. Don’t think that just because ‘our’ tacky physics and engineering dictate that certain things can not be achieved that we should take that as a universal fact… I can tell you now, anything is possible.
I seriously doubt anyone could structure a crop circle so eleborate as that unless it was a major operation that took weeks. Something like that can’t be developed over night, or even in a few days with a rake and a moron. You’d need to see the design from air almost constantly to get such accuracy. You’d need a number of people which would get noticed and increase the chance of defects. The perfection of this allows dictates that messy useless human minds could not achieve such a thing unless it was on a much grander scale in the public eye.
I sway to believe the same, plus… who is to even try and imagine what such an advanced civilization can or can not do, Our culture, languages etc. are no doubt a piece of cake for them to decipher… and “reverse engineer” to communicate back.
ABout crop circles, my view point is all are man made as far as i can tell. ANd the way they are formed is not a big deal given the technology that exist since 1960′s. Size and details are not a problem at all and can be formed in minutes. NOw here is the way….its the simple technology that exist in many insutries…LASER CUTTING TECHNOLOGY….Instead of low power lasers they are using High power x-ray lasers….which can be aimed from the sky…thousands of miles way up…Also to note that crop circles are only made in plan areas and not in densely populated places as it could harm humans…Same techonolgy is used by usa for mesile defense system in europe. Also the crops can be bend at a particular angle as desired given the the strength of the laser. Please write me if you still thing other wise. Regards,
Sara
I find it hard to understand how a lazer from space can make circles by pushing plants without: burning, breaking or leaving any trace residue’s… I would love to see some video footage of this, it would help me understand how easily these pranks can be done… Personally, I can’t see how Cropcircles (the good ones) could be done by people… It would be too easy to break the plants with feet / tools rather than bending flat in small circles.
please contact me! i have certain thoughts about whta you have just put in here! first of all, why is it that ridiculous to think they can speack english? they can master any language as it has been prove by many contactees or abduceed from around the worl (Brazil, Mexico…) who claimed they were told a message in their very own language!
Then, you say “ASCII code is NOT a standard universal code or language” how do you know that? and if it were so, What would it make it impossible for them to master such a code, coincidentally used on earnth? Only by thincking of the given size of the drowing, the particular features behind the message (compasses spinning out pof control when being expossed on the graphics) should be reason enough to believe WE dinn´t do it. I hope you find this if not interesting, at lest
Hi Ariel, I read your reply and thanks for the comment. I do hear what you are saying, and I kind of agree with you on some points. First, any intelligent species that visits Earth, of course, is probably, although not for certain, going to be able to master just about any language. I agree with you there. Even if they can’t, they would have some kind of translator to let them understand any language. But, English is not a universal language on this planet. It is one of several major languages on this planet, but not really universal. There are other major languages besides English, for example Spanish, Russian, Chinese to name a few. And you are correct, it isn’t too ridiculous to see crop circles, in England, to be coded in English. It just seems that every claim of some kind of code or language or whatever is supposedly found in crop circles – it is in English. I find that hard to believe. English also isn’t the oldest language around either. How about Arabic or Hebrew or Egyptian hieroglyphics or Chinese that’s been around far longer than English which is a conglomerate of many different languages. But as you say, it isn’t impossible. In my opinion, it’s fishy that everything is in English. And yes, many abductees have stated they have heard messages in whatever language they understand. Of course, that’s the way it should be, and I agree with them and you on this one.
Second, as far as ASCII is concerned, I’m not off on this. ASCII was only introduced in 1963. So it is only 48 years old. ASCII is a 7-bit character set. It has now been replaced, mostly, with UTF-8, UTF-16, etc… as the deafult character set. The Internet Mail Consortium requires that all IP’s have UTF-8 encoding. And UTF is now used more and more as the default for computer languages, API’s, software, and operating systems, for it is a 8-bit character set that gives more coding freedom. But as far as aliens encoding ASCII into a crop circle, it isn’t impossible, you are right. However, it is highly unlikely for ASCII to be used by them in my opinion. Could aliens master ASCII code- absolutely. They are intelligent as we assume. It’s just in my opinion that there would be other ways of encrypting a crop circle other than using ASCII. Not impossible, just not likely. And I do believe that a number of crop circles are NOT DONE BY MAN! Some are legitimate crop circles made by someone other than man. We know that. But this particular crop circle claiming ASCII encoding in it – hmmmm, I doubt it. Are there messages in these crop circles- very likely yes. I’m just saying I don’t think it is in ASCII.
