I came across this story while I was researching another topic. It’s a story that happened in 1970, being told by Dr. Raymond Brown and the crystal sphere he supposedly found while scuba diving in the Bahamas.
Here’s the guts to the story.
Dr. Brown and some friends were scuba diving near the edge of a submarine drop off called “Tongue of the Ocean” in the Bahamas. Brown got separated from the rest and went looking for them. He suddenly saw a pyramid shape sticking up from the ground. The submerged pyramid was 22 fathoms down, 120 feet high, and 90 feet of it was visible . He noticed the stone surface was completely smooth and mirror-like, and without seams between blocks.
He then proceeded to explore and found a hallway opening and entered. He came to a small rectangular room that had a pyramid ceiling. The room, he noticed, had no algae or coral growth whatsoever. The room was completely lit and very bright, although no light source was visible. He did not have a flashlight. He then saw a metallic rod hanging from the apex which was about 3 inches in diameter. The end of this rod had attached a many faceted red gem, that came to a point. Directly below the rod and this red gem, was a pedestal in the middle of the room, and on this pedestal was bronze or metallic life sized hands. The pedestal looked like carved stone which was topped by a plate with scrolled ends.
The hands looked burnt and blackened. Inside the hands was a crystal sphere, that was 3 1/2 inches in diameter.
Brown tried to pry the gem and the rod out to take with him. But they wouldn’t budge. So he turned to the crystal sphere which he easily removed from the hands. He left the pyramid with the crystal sphere.
He claims that as he left the pyramid structure, he heard a voice telling him never to return and felt the presence of something.
He did not tell anyone about the finding of the crystal sphere for fear of it being confiscated. 5 years later he finally exhibited the crystal.
There have been paranormal events, strange phenomena, and claims of healing surround the crystal sphere. Supposedly, if you “gaze” upon the sphere, you can see three pyramids inside, in different sizes. Some say they can even see a fourth pyramid. Psychic, Elizabeth Bacon, in her reading of the crystal, said it once belonged to “Thoth”, an Egyptian god who buried a secret vault of knowledge near the three Giza pyramids. People believe that maybe the location of the fabled lost “Hall of Records” can be found by the location of the fourth pyramid seen in the crystal sphere. Good luck is all I have to say.
Brown also says that under certain conditions, and from a certain angle, you can see a large human “eye” staring out. Photographs of the ”eye” are rumored – none actually exist. If they do, no one has seen them. Other claims include wind blowing when close to it, cold and warm layers surround it at varying distances, people have heard voices, seen phantom lights, and felt strange tingling sensations. A lot of the same claims we find with the mysterious Crystal Skulls.
If you watch the video, it states that metals are temporarily magnetized when in close contact. A compass needle will spin counterclockwise when next to the sphere. And the crystal repels a steel rod and makes it float or have no weight. (see video for demonstration of this). Even supposedly one person was healed by touching the crystal, and then the next person who touched the crystal was inflicted by the ailment of the previous person. Now that’s a claim! The video is cool to watch, and if this truly a magnificent crystal with unknown powers, where is it today? Well, no one knows.
Dr. Brown only displayed this crystal a few times. And he claims that all of his camera equipment of the scuba diving that day was lost/destroyed due to a storm that hit that day. He also claims that because he didn’t have the correct coordinates of where he found this pyramid structure, he can’t find it again.
Well, how convenient. So I might ask – if you just supposedly found an ancient crystal sphere that you believe proves the existence of Atlantis – wouldn’t you show this off to everyone in the world?!?! And we haven’t heard anything else from Dr. Ray Brown since or seen any pictures or see proof of the claims.
I could not find, ANYWHERE, a picture of this crystal sphere. He must have it hidden or something. But the video below shows some amazing abilities that makes this crystal intriguing (and the crystal itself is shown) which aired on the show “In Search Of” in the 1970’s and 80’s, with Leonard Nimoy hosting.
I would love to believe that this crystal is indeed some artifact or remnant from the fabled Atlantis civilization. I would absolutely love it. I would jump for joy, up and down, up and down. My belief is that Atlantis is not just a fabled land from Plato’s mind. Just about every ancient civilization on the planet has a story similar to Atlantis, just as they have similar stories about a Great Flood. So if you believe in the Bible and the Great Flood and Noah’s Ark – then why shouldn’t we believe in Atlantis as well?
But unfortunately I can’t do this with this flimsy evidence and story from Dr. Brown and his crystal sphere. I am actually amazed that this program on the History Channel actually aired this bit on Dr. Brown’s story, for this is nothing more than his claims. No other evidence whatsoever. He did have it, supposedly, but it was lost. He can’t find the place again. He was with friends – did they not see this crystal? He didn’t show anyone? He just found a HUGE finding and he didn’t show anyone? I sincerely doubt that.
So you can make up your own mind. We know that ancient societies, and even today’s societies use the power of crystals for healing, looking into people’s minds, and prophecies. Not to mention to hold A LOT of data within our computers of today. Crystals do have powers of some kind. Will we ever be able to harness that power? The phenomena we see with Dr. Brown’s crystal may be just the same phenomena we can see with any pure crystal. That doesn’t make it come from Atlantis though.

I know I’m going to get all kinds of hate and be called part of the mainstream conspiracy for posting this. But there are no submerged crystal pyramids as described in these stories. It is completely mythology.
I’ve been a diver since I was 15 years old. I’ve made a career in diving and in diving equipment. My customers have included companies that make ROVs (robots that work in the deep ocean), companies that build submersibles and companies that send divers to the deepest depth that human physiology will allow. Stories that affect the ocean affect me.
As a science minded person and a trekkie, I want to believe in these stories and I have to keep an open mind because there are real miracles and mysteries in the ocean revealing themselves everyday.
The original ‘Ray Brown’ stories of the 1970s are false. There is no part of that area that a 1970s scuba diver could reach that we couldn’t find. He couldn’t go below a hundred feet for more that a couple of minutes with the equipment described in the story. Also, treasure salvors have no problem scouring an area that is shallow enough for sport scuba gear. There would be no hiding giant glass pyramids.
The current stories of French and American divers finding something in the Bermuda triangle are equally false and no one has been able to cite who these divers are. Because the exact location is never documented, we don’t even know if the depths involved can be dove without submarines.
When you look at the search and recovery technology of today, we could find these things. Read the stories of finding the Titanic or the treasure wreck S.S. Central America.
We have been unable to document the quotes from experts in these stories and cannot even document the existence of the named experts
There are vast stretches of the ocean that are completely unexplored that could easily hide a lost civilization, there are strange, almost industrial, acoustic signals we hear from the bowels of the Pacific, there are so many mysteries that could hold secrets to change humanity. May be the governements hide it because they know the truth.

I do a lot of exploring of ocean topography with Google Earth 6, and believe it or not, I think I’ve found the 2 pyramids Dr. Brown spotted while diving in the Bahamas. I had already found around 9 pyramids in the Bahamas before I heard about the 2 that Dr. Brown potted. When I recently read Dr. Brown’s account, I knew that I had alread found them. He mentioned diving in the area of the ‘Tongue of the Ocean’, where the ocean floor dropped steeply. This fits the area called the Northeast Providence Channel, just off the north tip of Nassau. The ocean suddenly drops steeply there, just northeast of the ‘Tongue of the Ocean’. I’m now making a short video of the Bahamas pyramids I’ve found with Google Earth. I’ve recently posted 3 videos of: a giant 640 ft obelisk, a 500 and 225 ft obelisk, and 2 pyramids just off the coast of New Jersey and Delaware. These are only 3 of dozens and dozens of pyramids I’ve found on the US shores, not to mention what I’ve found in other locations (undersea). My Youtube Channel is MrFrankmartinish. Go to MrFrankmartinish on Youtube. I left some coordinates with some of the videos I uploaded of a few pyramid anomalies I found. Also, I used Google Earth 6 with the ocean feature to explore the ocean topography.

I don’t know if anyone saw this but the crystal pyramid that Dr. Brown claims to have found the sphere has been located by U.S. and French dive teams. It’s pretty interesting news and just wanted to say something just incase people hadn’t heard about it.
I just stumbled onto this article today and attempted to visit atlanteonsphere.com which was no longer running and there is no information on crystalinks on the location of the orb. Wondering if anybody has any more recent information?

I attended a lecture by Dr. Brown in Phoenix in 1977. After the talk we were allowed to come up to the front of room and experience the crystal. I held my hands about 8″ above the crystal and I felt a very powerful energy coming from it. I would love to experience it again.
The crystal that Arthur Fanning is showing is obviously not the same one as Ray Brown had. All you have to do is look at the pictures!
I assure you that it’s the same sphere with the three pyramids. Many many MANY different images appear at different times and for different people. I have personally photographed at least four completely different images, and I have seen many many more.
Indeed, Ray Brown’s crystal has resurfaced and a group of us are helping Arthur to be found. We have created a website http://www.atlanteonsphere.com. Note the spelling. This is for a reason. We are open to suggestions, events and what to do next.
Atlanteon, thanks for letting us know that the crystal has resurfaced. I will spread the word. But, how do we know that this is the REAL crystal that was Ray Brown’s? And it was really found in the ocean, as described? Thanks again for sharing your website and info.
Regina – All I can tell you is that if you feel drawn to it, you must experience it for yourself. I just uploaded a new story to the website. We also have a FaceBook page and are hoping people share their experiences. We’re not really interested in proving anything – we just wanted to make this energy available to those that feel called. 11-11-11 was the doorway.

The answer to your question about it being found under the ocean is YES, according to Ray Brown and those that he told the story to. There are some links on our website where Ray tells the story, and also the current Caretaker, Arthur, goes into more detail. You seem quite interested and therefore you are probably connected. Lyman, actually no one knows where the sphere is today. So crystalinks is mistaken if they claim to know the whereabouts, unless they have some kind of inside info the rest of us don’t have. But it seems to have resurfaced just recently apparantly. A group wanting to get the sphere out to the public has created a website at http://www.atlanteonsphere.com. I’m going to check this site out as well.
